A Message to the Community
December 14, 2021

Dear Missoula Community,

As we have moved deeper into the roles necessary to maneuver the growing success of the brewery, we have found ourselves feeling increasingly distant from our vocations as trauma psychologist and peacebuilding specialist. After two years of discernment, we have decided to step away from Imagine Nation Brewing and return to the world of humanitarian work.

For nearly seven years, we have collaborated with all of you to create beauty in Missoula. The entire vision of the country's first microbrewery and center for community transformation depended on buy-in from those of you who believe that by dedicating ourselves to others we can enhance interconnection in our community and in the world. Though the successes are legion, we would like to note a few to demonstrate what we have achieved together:

  1. INBC hosted over 4,000 community events, supported over 500 organizations, and gave back 25% of our net profit to groups working on constructive change in Missoula;

  2. We built over 350,000 face shields for healthcare workers on the frontlines while providing 35 liveable wage jobs for people who had lost theirs due to Covid;

  3. We helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for local initiatives by implementing a model that transcends pint nights, and released nearly 40 can collaborations with local organizations to highlight their work;

  4. INBC is tied for the highest rated brewery in the state (out of over 100) on Untappd and highlighted by Tavour as one of 4 noteworthy small town breweries in the country.

We have built a solid foundation, but what is best for the brewery and its place in Missoula is for someone with more capital and passion for business to take the helm. Therefore, we are beginning our search for the next owner(s) of INBC. We will do our very best to find someone who wishes to keep the soul of the vision intact while they, inevitably, imbue their own energy and ideas. With a great deal of development planned for the West Broadway corridor and the triangle project, and far more requests for our beer than we can supply, we believe that the possibilities are endless for the right person/people to scale up a respected brand and launch Imagine Nation to the next level.

It has been an incredible honor to work with all of you towards a community and a world that is more just. Know that you have impacted our lives. Thank you for believing in the possibilities of Imagine Nation; thank you for adding more human connection to the world through your support of this vision; and, thank you for accepting us to stand alongside you and promote the true reality of this world that we are because of each other.

In gratitude,

Fernanda and Robert

Co-Founders, Imagine Nation Brewing

The INBC transcends how a brewery serves a community by being the first in the country to include a center for community transformation. Through craft beer and education, the INBC is a unique model of celebration and dialogue, envisioned to joyfully address the challenges of our time and fuel social change in Missoula, Montana, and beyond.

Have a look around and if you're in Missoula, please stop by and see us!
